innogy presents lemonbeat technology for digital electricity meters during Metering Days

  • Digital electricity meters from well-known manufacturers with variable radio based on lemonbeat technology
  • Lemonbeat receiving-unit as interface to the meter
  • Smartphone app provides end customers with greater transparency in energy consumption

Dortmund, 17 October 2018. innogy presents its complete solution for smart modern metering, based on modern measuring equipment (mME), for the first time at the Metering Days. The event takes place on 23 and 24 October at the Esperanto Hotel & Congress Centre in Fulda. The solution, consisting of a digital electricity meter, receiver unit and smartphone app, is based on the Lean Metering concept of Lemonbeat GmbH. This enables attractive business models for network operators in the field of intelligent metering with modern measuring equipment.

At booth 41 of the exhibition innogy will present the products of three well-known electricity meter manufacturers with integrated lemonbeat technology. Depending on their needs, these can communicate via two different radio technologies either with the reading device of an energy supplier or with a receiver unit in the home of the electricity customer.

The cost-effective receiver unit, developed in-house by lemonbeat GmbH, establishes a local connection to the electricity meter for the secure and reliable transmission of consumption data. This data can then be used to realize value-added offers that significantly increase customer loyalty, for example by providing detailed consumption data to the end customer. In Fulda innogy will present a matching app.

With the complete solution, power hungry appliances can be identified and consumption optimized. At the same time, meter point operators benefit from a simplified reading process from the road in compliance with the legal framework conditions.

“The Lean Metering concept is the basis for a whole series of new, digital business models for energy suppliers and equally interesting for the housing industry,” says Oliver van der Mond, Managing Director of Lemonbeat GmbH, evaluating the project. “Over the past two years, innogy Metering has enabled us to bring together our enormous market know-how on the one hand and our technical understanding of radio systems in the embedded sector on the other. “

Lemonbeat and innogy also offer the Lean Metering solution to third parties in the market. Further information at metering.lemonbeat.com
